# Manage Accounts

## Add an Account

1. Open **Assets** and tap **Manage** at the top right.
2. Tap **Add Account**.
3. Enter a name, account type, currency, and current balance.
4. Configure a group, icon, color, book scope, or statistics options as needed.
5. Tap **Save**.

{% hint style="warning" %}
When adding an account for the first time, enter its real balance on the day you begin using Daak 2 as the **Current Balance**. Do not add historical records already included in that balance. Books do not have balances.
{% endhint %}

## Update an Account Balance

If a bank balance and Daak 2 differ, open the account, choose **Update Balance**, and enter the actual current balance and date. Daak 2 saves a balance adjustment record instead of rewriting historical records.

## Account Groups

Create groups on the account management page to organize accounts by bank, purpose, or owner. Drag accounts to change their group and display order. Groups affect presentation only and do not change a record's book.

| **Unarchive** | Swipe left in the archived list and tap the green unarchive icon | Restore it as a commonly available account |

{% hint style="info" %}
Archiving an account preserves its historical records but removes it from common account choices.
{% endhint %}

## Delete an Account

{% hint style="danger" %}
Deleting an account does not delete historical records. Stop sharing a shared account before deletion. To hide an inactive account, archive it instead.
{% endhint %}
