# Credit and Parent-Child Accounts

## Create Parent-Child Accounts

Parent-child accounts are useful when one financial account contains multiple currencies or separate balances.

1. Create the main account on the account management page.
2. Edit the main account and add child accounts.
3. Choose a currency and enter a balance for each child account.
4. Tap the main account on Assets to expand it or open a child account.

The main account total converts every child account to the main account's currency first. A child account page still shows its original currency balance.

## Use a Credit Account

When creating or editing an account, choose the credit account type and set its credit limit, statement date, repayment date, and other details.

| ------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Credit account details** | Current amount owed, credit limit, and remaining credit |
| **Statement cycle** | Purchases, repayments, and adjustments in the current cycle |
| **Statistics** | Amounts and related records within the cycle |
| **Multi-currency main account** | Child accounts converted to the main account's currency before totaling |

When using **Credit Card Repayment**, choose the repayment account and credit account. Do not record another standard transfer for the same repayment.

The main account total, statement-cycle statistics, and remaining credit all use the main account's currency. Amounts in different currencies are never added directly.
