# First-Time Setup

## 1. Create a Book

1. Open **Book**.
2. Tap **Add** at the top right.
3. Enter a name, choose a currency, and configure any other settings you need.
4. Tap **Save**.

One everyday book is enough to begin. Create additional books later if you want separate statistics for your household, travel, or work.

## 2. Add an Account

1. Open **Assets** and tap **Manage** at the top right.
2. Tap **Add Account**.
3. Enter the account name, type, currency, and current balance.
4. After you save, the account appears on the Assets page and in the account picker when you create records.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Enter the account's real balance on the day you begin using Daak 2 as its **Current Balance**. Do not enter older records that are already included in that balance. Balances belong to accounts; books organize, filter, and share records but do not have balances.
{% endhint %}

## 3. Add Your First Record

1. Tap the **record button** at the bottom right.
2. Choose **Expense** or **Income**.
3. Enter an amount and choose an account, book, and category.
4. Tap **Save** at the bottom right of the number pad.

## 4. Check the Result

| Page                  | What to check                                             |
| --------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Home > Records** | The record you just saved is correct |
| **Assets** | The paying or receiving account balance changed correctly |
| **Home > Statistics** | Income, expense, and category results updated correctly |

{% hint style="success" %}
After these steps, you are ready to keep records. You can set up Budget, Savings, Installments, Investments, and other features whenever you need them.
{% endhint %}
