# Data and Membership

## Where Is My Data Stored?

Daak 2 does not require a separate account. Personal finance data that you create, including records, accounts, budgets, and plans, is stored on your device. When iCloud is available, it syncs automatically through your own iCloud account.

| Status | Storage and sync behavior |
| ------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **iCloud is disabled or unavailable** | Data is stored only on the current device |
| **iCloud is enabled** | Private data is stored in the current Apple ID's private iCloud database and syncs to devices using the same Apple ID |
| **Sharing is used** | Only books, accounts, savings plans, and related data you actively share are made available to invited participants through iCloud |

{% hint style="warning" %}
If data exists only on the current device, create a backup before replacing the device or deleting the App.
{% endhint %}

Daak 2 does not operate a separate server for your personal finance data and does not store your records, accounts, or plans in a Daak 2 account. Online content such as market prices comes from Daak 2's data service but does not include your personal finance data.

For sync, sharing, and backup instructions, see [iCloud and Sharing](/daak-help/data-and-sharing/sync-and-sharing.md) and [Import, Export, and Migration](/daak-help/data-and-sharing/backup-and-import.md).

## Which Account Is Membership Linked To?

Apple App Store manages membership purchases and restoration. Membership is linked to the **App Store Apple ID** used for the purchase, not to one device or to your Daak 2 finance data.

After replacing a device or reinstalling the App, sign in with the App Store Apple ID used for the purchase and tap **Restore Purchases** on the membership page.

| Account                | Purpose                                         |
| ---------------------- | ----------------------------------------------- |
| **iCloud Apple ID** | Stores, syncs, and shares personal finance data |
| **App Store Apple ID** | Purchases, renews, and restores membership |

{% hint style="info" %}
These Apple IDs do not need to be the same. If data is missing, check the iCloud account. If membership is not restored, check the App Store account.
{% endhint %}
