# Loans

## Record Money Lent or Borrowed

1. Open **Loans** and tap **+** at the top right.
2. Choose **Lend** or **Borrow**.
3. Enter the amount, person or entity, book, account, and date.
4. After saving, Loans totals the amount to collect or repay for each person or entity.

## Record a Collection or Repayment

1. Tap a person, entity, or loan record to open its details.
2. Choose **Collect** or **Repay**.
3. Enter the amount and choose the receiving or paying account.
4. Saving updates the remaining amount automatically.

| Action                             | Result                                                                |
| ---------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Partial Collection / Repayment** | Records this amount and keeps the remaining balance open              |
| **Full Collection / Repayment**    | Settles the corresponding loan balance                                |
| **View Record**                    | Tap a record row in the details to open the corresponding loan record |

## Edit and Delete

Open a loan record's details to edit its amount, date, account, or person.

Deleting a loan record also reverses its balance effect. Before deleting, check for later collections or repayments.
